From time to time I get deeply interested in a particular area. Often I’ll blog about the journey, and sometime I run surveys and publish results. If you’d like to investigate that stuff, head on over to my research projects. In the past I have done deep dives into Project Management, Org design, Planning, and Agile. Currently my focus is on two topics Collaboration and Distributed Working (with international teams emerging as a theme).
Collaboration deep dive
I have been interviewing people and running guided workshops where we investigate what we think about collaboration. My going in hypothesis is tat collaboration is one of those danger words; we know we are supposed to have it and like it, but we can't easily describe what exactly it is, or what better looks like.
There is a survey if you'd like to participate. And I publish results on the blog and talk to it using slides. I am also quite happy to come talk to your team about what I am learning about collaboration. It seems like a 'good practice' can be developed around a collaboration roadmap. Let me know if you want to talk more about this.

Top talent is all over the world, and the future of work wants to leverage it. Colocated teams is an agile meme that pulls hard on working on the same room for better results. How do we reconcile the two ideas/
Also how do we do international remote working well? At this stage I am collecting useful resources and assembling a toolkit. If you would like to contribute please get in touch.

Heart of Agile
Heart of Agile is a movement within the broader agile movement to simplify our approach to scaling and doing work. I am collecting stories about how alternative and simpler approaches help organisations solve a variety of problems, including handling growth and coordination challenges across multiple teams.
At this stage I'm collecting my notes within the Heart of Agile community's working spaces.
